A pinch of Canada: Petersen, Emery and Whelans joined by Lindsay Mullan on Oct 10

The internationally-acclaimed Lindsay Mullan will be coming all the way from Toronto along with the Free Association’s Naomi Petersen to join Dylan and Phil on October 10th at Hoopla.

GTI will be sharing the bill with the fabulous Dreamweaver Quartet, so there will be something for everyone.

Lindsay Mullan 
is a Canadian Comedy Award-Nominated actor, improvisor, instructor, and creator. She is an alumnus of the Second City Toronto Mainstage, an alumnus of the famous Loose Moose Theatre, and a graduate of the Mount Royal University Theatre Arts Acting Program. Lindsay has worked as a performer for over almost two decades in various mediums (Theatre, Film, Television, Web, and Podcasting). As an artist she strives to create original and truthful work that tickles the funny bone and pulls at the heartstrings. Lindsay is currently based in Toronto, Canada.

Naomi Petersen has performed in plays and musicals across the UK and in the West End. She has worked extensively with Sir Alan Ayckbourn, most recently originating the role of Lily in The Girl Next Door and Edie in Constant Companion. Naomi was Poppy in Tender Loving Care at New Theatre Royal Portsmouth and Georgia in Angus Thongs and Even More Snogging at The Leeds Playhouse. Other stage credits include: The Sorcerer’s Apprentice (The Ambassadors Theatre), The Witches of Eastwick (The Watermill), 10x10x10 (Pleasance), Chavs (The Lyric Hammersmith). TV includes E4’s Drifters and she was in Radio 4’s Joseph Morpurgo’s Walking Tour.

Dylan Emery has been performing and directing improvised theatre and comedy for more than 15 years. He is co-founder of Olivier Award-winning West End, Edinburgh Festival and Radio 4 Impro Hit, Showstopper! The Improvised Musical , Ken Campbell-founded hard-bardics masterclass The School of Night and Grand Theft Impro. He has played the National Theatre, The Royal Court and Shakespeare’s Globe.

Phil Whelans – writer and performer of his own Radio 4 sitcom, My First Planet, founder member of Pros from Dover – with whom he did two series of Radio 4’s The Infinite Monkey Cage. Phil has worked with everyone from Joan Rivers to Basil Brush, Al Gore to Brian Conley, Robin Williams to Giles Brandreth. Phil has been in It’s Kevin, BrasseyePreston Front and a number of unsuccessful radio and TV impro pilots. He has improvised all over the world, is founder member of Spontaneous Combustion and Grand Theft Impro, has been in Showstopper: the Improvised MusicalHamlet Improvised and Criminal, was a Monkey Toast player and has also performed at Shakespeare’s Globe.
