Next Saturday, why not grab your binoculars, erect a hide and try not to startle* GTI as its actual core line-up makes a Hale-Bopp-level rare appearance at Hoopla, with special guest, the wonderful Alison Thea-Skot, and performing alongside new musical long-form show, Man Band?

GTI will be…

Alison Thea-Skot is a critically acclaimed actress, character comedian and writer. She’s taken four sell-out solo shows to the Edinburgh Fringe,  two of which did runs at Soho Theatre. She works in TV, radio, film and the stage, from Shakespeare’s Globe to Basil Brush. She improvises mainly with The Free Association.

Dylan Emery has been performing and directing improvised theatre and comedy for more than 15 years. He is co-founder of Olivier Award-winning West End, Edinburgh Festival and Radio 4 Impro Hit, Showstopper, Ken Campbell-inspired hard-bardics masterclass, the School of Night and Grand Theft Impro. He has played the National Theatre, The Royal Court and Shakespeare’s Globe.

Charlotte Gittins is an actor, documentary-maker and BAFTA Rocliffe-winning writer. She is a member of impro behemoth, Austentatious, half of critically acclaimed double act Folie à Deux, one-third of JCB, Anxiety Club and Grand Theft Impro and has been various percentages of: Norway’s Almost Ibsen: An Improvised TragedySuki Webster’s Guest SpeakerLiterary Death MatchThis Is Your TrialMonkey Toast, Marcus Brigstocke’s Unavailable for Comment and Ross Noble’s Evening of Improvisation with Special Guests. She has appeared at festivals across Europe and the Antipodes, performed her début solo show at the Edinburgh Fringe, and acted by candlelight in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse at Shakespeare’s Globe.

Phil Whelans – writer and performer of his own Radio 4 sitcom, My First Planet, founder member of Pros from Dover – with whom he did two series of Radio 4’s The Infinite Monkey Cage. Phil has worked with everyone from Joan Rivers to Basil Brush, Al Gore to Brian Conley, Robin Williams to Giles Brandreth. Phil has been in It’s Kevin, Brasseye, Preston Front and a number of unsuccessful radio and TV impro pilots. He has improvised all over the world, is founder member of Spontaneous Combustion and Grand Theft Impro, has been in Showstopper: the Improvised Musical, Hamlet Improvised and Criminal. He has also performed at Shakespeare’s Globe.
